  24. Basically you don't. If the "verify data" command in HDToolBox cannot repair the
  25. drive it is toast. (It will be real toast in the near future anyway if you have
  26. a complete physical cylinder on the disk that is blown. That is a *VERY* unusual
  27. happening on a hard disk. (How did you determine you had a dead cylinder? This
  28. requires detailed knowledge of the actual physical format of the disk which is
  29. not usually presented to users of any of the prep programs because of the
  30. complexities involved.)
